課程大綱

本課程旨在進一步提升學生於學術會議與研討場合中以英語進行口頭報告、簡報發表及互動應對之能力。課程聚焦學術會議常見之發表形式，包括論文口頭發表、海報發表、研究摘要說明、短講及問答交流，並著重學術口語論述之組織、研究重點之清楚傳達、論點整合、聽眾互動與現場應答技巧。透過會議情境模擬、口頭報告、海報發表演練與回應活動，學生將強化其學術英語口語表達、簡報呈現與會議溝通能力，並建立參與國際學術交流之實務基礎。 This course aims to further develop students’ ability to deliver oral reports, conference presentations, and academic briefings in English in conference and seminar settings. It focuses on common forms of academic conference communication, including paper presentations, poster sessions, research summaries, short talks, and question-and-answer exchanges. Special emphasis is placed on organizing academic oral discourse, presenting research clearly, integrating key arguments, engaging with audiences, and responding effectively in live academic settings. Through conference simulations, oral presentation practice, poster presentation tasks, and response activities, students will strengthen their spoken academic English, presentation delivery, and conference communication skills, building a practical foundation for participation in international academic events.

課程進度

Weeks 1–5: Part I – Foundations of Academic Presentations Academic presentation structure, spoken academic English, audience awareness, and effective delivery. Weeks 6–11: Part II – Academic Conference Communication Research presentations, short talks, poster presentations, visual design, and Q&A strategies. Weeks 12–16: Part III – Academic Conference in Practice Presentation practice, peer feedback, poster sessions, and academic conference simulations. Weeks 17–18: Flexible Learning Weeks – Reflection and Synthesis Self-assessment, peer feedback, presentation refinement, and reflection on academic presentation development.

Your final grade will be based on the quality of your work in the following areas. Note: The grading scheme may be adjusted slightly based on the final set of assigned activities, assignments, and projects. Attendance and Participation: 10% Assignments and In-Class Activities 10% Midterm Exam (university-level): 20% Academic Presentations: 40% Script Writing: 10% Reflection:10% Total: 100%
