課程大綱

本課程旨在訓練學生公開表達之能力，內容包括語言表達基本原則與技巧、肢體語言與演講要領，備題演講及即席演講演練。 This course is designed to enable students to develop the principles and skills necessary for public speaking. Included will be guidelines for giving a speech and displaying body language, as well as practice sessions for delivering prepared speeches and impromptu speeches. 本課程屬通識英語口語訓練（General English – Speaking），非特定學科之學術英語課程。課堂教材、講義與投影片全數為英文；授課教師課堂英語使用比例約 70%，遇重要規定或學生理解困難時輔以中文說明。課程使用影片片段、教育部 Cool English 平台與自製英語 RPG 互動教材輔助口語練習。學生得於課前使用生成式 AI 蒐集構想與查詢用語，惟講稿須自行撰寫，課堂發表不得朗讀 AI 生成之內容。 The course is a general English speaking course; it is not discipline-specific academic English. All materials, handouts, and slides are in English, and the instructor uses English for approximately 70% of class time, switching to Chinese only for important course regulations or when comprehension breaks down. Film excerpts, the Ministry of Education's Cool English platform, and a purpose-built English RPG activity support speaking practice. Students may use generative AI before class to gather ideas and check expressions, but they must write their own speech and may not read AI-generated text when presenting.

評量方式

Grading Rubrics 1. Show and Tell (20%) 2. Personal Experience Speech (20%) 3. Picture-Based Speech (20%) 4. Handouts (20%) 5. Attendance (20%) 三項演講依同一套五向度四等級評分尺規評分，向度為內容、組織、語言運用、發表與流暢（含肢體語言與眼神接觸）、互動與回應。講義部分於課堂完成後拍照上傳 Zuvio，繳交即計分，可補交。出席每堂點名，缺席該次不計分，經學校請假系統請假者仍予計分(第一周不計出席)。 All three speeches are assessed with the same rubric of five dimensions across four levels: content, organization, language use, delivery and fluency (including body language and eye contact), and interaction. Handouts are completed in class, photographed, and uploaded to Zuvio; submission earns the credit, and late uploads are accepted. Attendance is taken every class. An absence forfeits that class's point; leave requested through the school system still earns it (Week 1 is not counted).

Class materials, worksheets, and presentations will be in English. Teaching language and interaction between professors and students will be in English for about 70%.
