課程大綱

本課程以「中世紀到工業革命」為主軸：將探索中世紀、文藝復興、啟蒙時代與工業革命期間，人類社會如何在科技、經濟與文化變遷下，發展新的生活型態與設計方式。課程內容包括中世紀的宗教建築與工藝技術、文藝復興時期的美學與人文思想對設計的影響、啟蒙時代的科技發展，以及工業革命帶來的大規模生產與都市化現象。學生將分析從手工製作到機械生產的轉變如何影響產品設計、家具設計與建築風格，並探討此時期的設計理念如何延續至今日。 This course centers on the theme "From the Middle Ages to the Industrial Revolution," exploring how human societies adapted their lifestyles and design approaches in response to technological, economic, and cultural transformations during the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, the Enlightenment, and the Industrial Revolution. Course topics include religious architecture and craftsmanship in the Middle Ages, the influence of aesthetics and humanist thought on Renaissance design, technological advancements of the Enlightenment, and the large-scale production and urbanization brought by the Industrial Revolution. Students will analyze how the transition from handcrafted to mechanized production impacted product design, furniture design, and architectural styles, as well as how design concepts from this period continue to influence the present day.
