課程大綱

This course aims to introduce to students the basic concepts, issues and skills of corpus linguistics, including types of corpora, corpus design and construction, corpus analytical tools and techniques, and methodologies for corpus-based studies. It will discuss the major uses of corpora and the applications of corpus linguistics in English language teaching and learning. In the class, students will read and discuss previous studies, and will be given hands-on activities to use corpora and corpus tools.
